Our family-focused Private Journey begins in Argentina's stylish capital, where you'll walk (or bike, if you prefer) in the city's most famous neighborhoods, from bohemian San Telmo, with its cobbled streets, to the colorful port of La Boca, where tango is ever present. A choice of activities is offered each day. After a relaxing overnight at a classic turn-of-the-century ranch out in the pampas, fly to Iguazú Falls, a World Heritage Site surrounded by an incredible forest full of tropical wildlife, from toucans to parrots and monkeys. You'll visit both the Argentine and Brazilian side of the falls, exploring walkways that weave in and around the cascades for up-close perspectives. Fun optional add-ons include attending a professional soccer game in one of the most famous stadiums in the world, enjoying an asado dinner, the Macuco Safari Experience at Iguazú Falls, and a cooking class and dinner. At journey's end, join our family-tailored extensions to Patagonia for hikes in Los Glaciares National Park or to Bariloche to explore the luxuriant forests and glacial lagoons of the Lake District.

Itinerary
Influenced by the great European cities, Buenos Aires has its own distinct personality and proud traditions. On foot, by bike, or with a private car at your disposal, explore the city's colorful port, historic districts, and leafy parks with your private guide. Famous sights include the graceful Recoleta cemetery where the legendary Evita Perón is buried and the photogenic neighborhood of La Boca, with its open-air tango dancing. Fun optional add-ons include attending an exciting Boca Juniors game in one of the most famous soccer stadiums in the world or a convivial asado argentino at a "secret" restaurant.
Head out for an overnight at an exclusive estancia (working ranch) on the vast lands called the pampas. En route, visit San Antonio de Areco, with its cobbled streets and 18th century church on the central plaza. The town is the national capital of gaucho tradition. Enjoy a typical asado lunch, meet the local gauchos at the ranch, then perhaps take a horseback ride through green countryside or relax at the ranch's peaceful swimming pool.
Mighty Iguazú Falls straddles the border of Argentina and Brazil for two full miles, with 250 separate cascades tumbling a mile down from the cliffs of the river. The sights and sounds are unforgettable, and the dreamy setting is a tropical jungle full of toucan, parrots, and monkeys. Enjoy a full day's exploration of the Argentine side of Iguazú National Park, with its incredible subtropical forest, and a half-day on the Brazilian side for stupendous panoramas. Exciting optional add-ons are the Macuco Safari Experience—boarding a trolley for a scenic overview of Brazil's side of the falls—and taking part in an Argentine cooking class and dinner. This trip is rated Level 2-3, Easy to Moderate, according to our trip grading system, and offers a choice of in-depth walking and cultural tours and easy to moderate optional hikes. The walking tours will keep you on your feet for 4-6 hours over a mix of streets and stairs.
Buenos Aires is mild year-round, with temperatures in the 70s and 80s and moderate to high humidity from November through March. The climate at Iguazú Falls is hot, tropical, and steamy most of the year.
