This trip exceeded by far my expectations. An exhilarating experience, beautiful (if tough) hikes, incredible Inca ruins, excellent food, and a superb group of people to facilitate and enrich our trip.

This trip offered a lot and was an incredible experience. Our Trip Leader, Kevin, was absolutely AMAZING! He has a wealth of knowledge and experience in this region and it enriched the entire journey. I can't imagine the added hassle we would have had to deal with if we hadn't stayed at the Sanctuary Lodge—not waiting 2 hours in line for the bus each day, and having more "off-hours" time at the site of Machu Picchu was a huge value add to the experience.

I loved the beauty and challenge of the mountains, and learning more about the Inca culture was a huge plus.

Thank you, Wilderness Travel, for providing us with a spectacular trekking experience in the high Andes. The remoteness, history, and improbable location of Choquequirao were magical and with the deft leadership provided by Kevin made for a truly unique adventure.

Loved the trip! Very challenging in an incredibly beautiful setting, with a guide who could make the most of the Inca sites for us. A wonderful juxtaposition of excellent accommodations/food before and after the trek, with trekking and camping in between. The Peruvian staff were absolutely wonderful!

A top 10 experience for anyone, I should imagine. It certainly was for me.

I love the fact that we got to see Machu Picchu and Peru via the road less traveled.
