Daniel Sechi

Daniel was born in Lobatse, Southern Botswana, and as a youth, heard many stores about the bush from his father, a well-respected tracker. His first introduction to the wilds of Botswana began when he joined a wildlife club in primary school, and he finished high school in the Ghanzi district, right next to the Khutsi/Central Kalahari game reserve. After finishing school, Daniel applied for a position at the Botswana Department of Wildlife and National Parks and was immediately given a post as a game ranger in Chobe National Park where he worked from 1999 to 2005. He also worked in the anti-poaching unit during his time there. Daniel earned his Professional Guide License in 2008 and started guiding at a lodge in the Northern Okavango, but quickly moved on to the more demanding but rewarding mobile safari sector. His passion is the bush but his love is for family—he is a father of four and also cares for his sister's children.
