Douglas Mawson

Named after the legendary Australian geologist and explorer, the new, state-of-the-art ship Douglas Mawson is built for adventure and carries 130 guests on its expedition cruises. Public spaces include a lecture theater, library, two restaurants, and multiple observation areas with floor-to-ceiling windows. Relax in comfort while watching for wildlife and enjoy the breathtaking landscapes unfolding before you. Or, visit the Citizen Science Centre and Lounge, where you can learn more about the world from your onboard naturalist and Expedition Team. There’s also a swimming pool, Jacuzzis, gym, and sauna. An activities platform makes boarding the Zodiacs as quick, efficient, and safe as possible, minimizing wait times and getting you closer to the action for longer. The Douglas Mawson features 11 different types of staterooms and suites, including a range of spacious single berth staterooms.

There is one Captain's Suite and it is the largest of the cabins aboard the ship at 487 sq. ft. There is a large lounge area, private balcony, walk-in wardrobe, en suite bathroom, desk, minibar, and flat screen TV. Beds are king-size or two twin beds.

Junior Suites are on Deck 7 and are 446 sq. ft. in area. There is a separate lounge area, private balcony, en suite bathroom, desk area, minibar, flat screen TV.

These cabins are on Deck 4 and 6 and are 299-390 sq. ft. in area. They feature floor-to-ceiling windows, en suite bathrooms, minibar, flat screen TV, and a desk area.

Located on Decks 4 and 6, these cabins are 248-288 sq. ft. in area. They feature a private balcony, en suite bathroom, minibar, and flat screen TV.

Many of the 17 Balcony Stateroom B rooms are fitted with interconnecting features making them great for families or groups. These staterooms are located at the fore and aft of Decks 4 and 6 and range in size from 238-269 sq. ft.. They feature a private balcony, en suite bathroom, minibar, and flat screen TV.

The 5 Balcony Stateroom Category C rooms are the most economical, fitted with all the necessities and comfortable for up to 2 people. These staterooms are scattered throughout Deck 4 & 6 and range in area from 227-268 sq. ft. Like the other cabins, there is a private balcony, en suite bathroom, minibar, and flat screen TV.

Located on Deck 7, these cabins feature french balconies, floor to ceiling windows, en suite bathrooms, minibar, desk area, and a comfortable desk area. They range in size from 150-174 sq. ft.

These cabins, designed for solo travelers, are located on Deck 4 and feature a king-size bed, private balcony, en suite bathroom, desk area, minibar, and flat screen TV. They are 248-288 sq. ft. in area.

These cabins feature a twin bed, portholes, en suite bathroom, minibar, flat screen TV, and are located on Decks 3 and 7. They range in size from 188-163 sq. ft. in area.

There are two Aurora Stateroom Single cabins featuring twin bed, portholes, en suite bathroom, minibar, and flat screen TV. They are located on Deck 3 and are 106 sq. ft. in area.

Two Aurora Stateroom Twin cabins feature king bed or two twins, en suite bathroom, porthole, desk area, minibar, flat screen TV. They are located on Deck 3 and are 165-172 sq. ft.

Two Aurora Stateroom Triple cabins feature king bed or two twins, portholes, en suite bathroom, minibar, and flat screen TV. They are located on Deck 3 and are 293 sq. ft. in area.
