Leapin’ Lemurs! (Plus a Chameleon)

Madagascar’s Incredible Endemic Residents

WT adventurer Ann Kugel’s Madagascar: Off the Beaten Path trip gave her the chance to come face to face with some of the wild and unique (and some fluffy and cute!) locals of this incredible island. Here is a selection of the animal portraits she captured on her journey.

A black-and-white ruffed lemur clings to a tree trunk with its limbs outstretched, surrounded by green foliage and trees, sharing its habitat with a stealthy chameleon in the background.

Black and White Ruffed Lemur in Ranomafana Park, Madagascar. This is was the first time I was eye to eye with a lemur! I can’t imagine what he thought of me, but he loved having his picture taken.

A diademed sifaka sits on the grass by the edge of a pond, with its reflection visible in the water, while a nearby chameleon quietly watches.

A green, two-horned chameleon with textured skin is perched on a mossy tree branch amidst leafy green foliage, reminiscent of the vibrant scenes in Leapin' Lemurs.

A bamboo lemur clings to a tree branch surrounded by green foliage, with the label "Leapin' Lemurs" in the top left corner. A chameleon peeks from behind the leaves, adding a touch of mystery.
