Overview

From swimming with dolphins off the fishing village of Kaikoura to hiking native forest trails on the Queen Charlotte Track, this journey from the Pacific Coast to the Tasman Sea reveals natural wonders all across the glorious South Island. We’ll hike the alpine tarns of Nelson Lakes National Park, walk coastal cliffs above seal colonies, explore regenerated forest trails amongst ancient volcanic calderas, soak in geothermal hot springs in the Southern Alps, and even raft through a cave beneath a display of glow worms. Other delights include wine tasting in Marlborough Sounds, a wildlife sanctuary visit, and optional biking through the lush coastal forest of the new Kawhatiri Trail. Our expert Trip Leaders introduce us to their favorite insider spots along the way.
