Culloden House Hotel

Inverness, Scotland

A tucked away haven in the Highlands, Culloden House is an experience of Scotland at its historic best. Originally a 16th century Jacobean castle, it later was the headquarters of Bonnie Prince Charlie before the battle on Culloden Moor in 1746. A beautiful long driveway leads to the front of this elegant red-brick, ivy-clad country house, surrounded by 40 acres of open parkland. Though its setting is grand and stately, it offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Rooms are large and furnished in period decor, and there is a fine restaurant and welcoming bar with a superb collection of rare whiskies.
