Nello De Libero

Advanced degrees in geology and hydrogeology and working on environmental impact projects throughout the world, including water plans in Djibouiti, Mali, Dominican Republic, Senegal, Yemen, and Iraq, led Nello to realize how much nature, history, and human activities interact to create the famous landscapes we all see and admire. He started his guiding career in the late ‘90s, and over the years, has designed and led tours such far-flung spots as Egypt and Mongolia, and throughout Italy, from Tuscany to Puglia to the Dolomites. As a geologist, he sees the places where we walk as a living habitat, with the mountains, rivers, and other elements telling a story—of past climates and seas, of mountain building, and how humans used and changed the natural world for their activities. Traveling with Nello is always a wonderful experience—he's also a wine connoisseur and culinary expert!
