Laurence Frison

A graphic designer by trade, but traveler, hiker, skier, and guide by passion, Laurence Frison (Lolo) embodies the life of an adventurer. She spent a decade exploring the world from Africa to Australia, including a three-month road trip from Vancouver to Los Angeles, and has specialized in guiding groups in the French Alps, gaining her French national credential in mountain leadership. You can often find her leading groups on tasty detours through the French markets, a cultural gateway to the pulse of France, she says. When not leading hiking adventures with us, she finds new adventures through biking and beekeeping in Thonon les Bains (in the French Alps), where she lives. “She consistently went the 'extra mile,' sharing with us honey from her own beehives, researching questions we had about local flora on her own time, and pointing out interesting features of the locale that we would otherwise not have noticed,” said one client.

Upcoming Trips:

Mont Blanc to the Mediterranean, July 12-25, 2015
Normandy and Brittany, September 21-October 1, 2015
Medieval France: The Lot Valley, October 3-11, 2015

Laurence's knowledge, enthusiasm, and energy, combined with an intense interest in nature and the outdoors and an absolutely sparkling personality, make her a delight to travel with. She consistently went the 'extra mile,' sharing with us honey from her own beehives, researching questions we had about local flora on her own time, and pointing out interesting features of the locale that we would otherwise not have noticed. I have no doubt that she will come to be recognized as one of the best in her field. The ability to attract trip leaders like Mike and Lolo says as much as anything could about the quality of Wilderness Travelplease keep up the great work, as I hope to have many years of outdoor travel ahead of me.
