Pacuare Lodge

Set on the banks of the Rio Pacuare, this luxury lodge is an ideal base from which to explore Costa Rica's verdant rainforest environs. Twenty guest suites spread over the property ensure total privacy, and offer a comfortable retreat when not out exploring. We stay in the Garden Suites (upgrades are available), which offer private decks with hammocks, en suite bathrooms, heated indoor and outdoor showers, and ceiling fans. They are open to the air, but have screened walls. Lush forest grounds lie alongside the river, and there are nearby trails and a stunning infinity pool with views overlooking the river. All energy comes from solar panels and hydroelectric turbines in streams on the property. Wi-Fi is available everywhere. The lodge employs many local Cabécar indigenous people who hike into the river canyon from their traditional villages each day.
