Jorge Ruben was born in Luanda, Angola, but was raised in Portugal from an early age. His abiding passion is nature, from the highest peaks (he loves to climb mountains) to under the ground (he's also a speleologist). In addition to Portugal, Jorge Ruben has trekked the mountains of the Alps, Pyrenees, and Spain's Picos de Europa, and has a special interest in other cultures and customs. His mantra is "Wild is not who lives in nature ... Wild is who destroys it!" Jorge Ruben in fluent in Portuguese and English, and speaks some Spanish.
Ruben is an excellent guide and a kind and gentle person. His love for his country and enthusiasm for the places we visited was one of the highlights of the trip.
