Peter Grant

Peter Grant is a physician-turned-mountain guide who spends as much time outside as he possibly can. And who wouldn’t, when the magnificent Cairngorms are your backyard? A native Highlander who grew up exploring the Cairngorms, he gained his Summer Mountain Leader qualification in 1997 and Trail Cycle Leader qualification in 2014, and was once a part of the Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team. He has also worked in Africa, India, and Australia and its neighboring islands. Fun fact about Peter: he spent three summers in the 1970s working as an assistant keeper on some of Scotland’s remote lighthouses, giving him a unique introduction to island and coastal wildlife—and a glimpse of a now-vanished vocation.

Client Testimonials

Pete's leadership was like being with a friend from Scotland who took a week off from work to show us around, while also being amazingly skillful and versatile. We laughed all week, and loved every single minute. We could not have had a better guide, nor one who matched our own personalities any better.
