Hiker's Journey to the Southwest

On the Trails of the Grand Canyon, Bryce, Escalante, and Zion

Arches of Navajo sandstone, soaring mesas, rock temples in a rainbow of colors—canyon country of Utah and Arizona is extraordinary in its scale and legendary in its beauty, from the mile-deep Grand Canyon to the off-trail hiking wilderness of Escalante. Our lodge-based adventure with veteran WT Trip Leader Rob Noonan begins with a breathtaking charter flight over the Grand Canyon, a half-day float down the mighty Colorado River, and hikes from the canyon’s remote North Rim. Heading to Utah’s Bryce Canyon, we explore a labyrinth of intricate “hoodoos” (rock columns), and at Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, our trails cross multicolored slickrock sandstone to discover secret side canyons lush with cottonwoods and magical waterfalls. Our grand finale finds us in the stunning wonder of Zion National Park, with its 2,000-foot-high red rock walls, with an option for a thrilling hike through the spectacular Zion Narrows, the most famous slot canyon in the world. The Southwest is Rob’s home turf and he loves to share its secrets—join us for a fantastic adventure!
