Days 1-3
Lusaka, Zambia / South Luangwa National Park / Luwi Camp or Nsolo Camp

Fly from Lusaka, Zambia, to the airstrip at Mfuwe, and head to your remote safari camp, either Luwi or Nsolo, nestled along oxbow lagoons in South Luanga. Enjoy guided walking safaris as well as day and nighttime game drives as you search for a wide variety of plains game alongside the predators attracted to Luangwa's abundance. The Luangwa River supports a wide range of wildlife from crocodile to hippo, giraffe, elephant, and Cape buffalo. Your beautiful tented suite has an en suite bathroom and you can often see wildlife right from the privacy of your tent.

Sleepout Under the Stars: On one night, experience an optional “Sleepout Under the Stars” at additional cost. Your guide will lead you to the white sands of the Luwi River where you will sleep under the stars, complete with a tented mosquito net, cozy bed, a bush loo, and a culinary team. It’s a thrill to savor the sounds of the South Luangwa on an unforgettable night under the stars.

Days 4-6
South Luangwa / Kakuli Camp or Mchenja Camp

Walking right from Luwi or Nsolo through the valley of the Luangwa River, “reading” the bush with your game-spotter, as you make your way to your next camp, Kakuli Camp or Mchenja Camp. Both are set along the Luangwa River in a remote and tranquil setting and providing an exciting base for walking and game drives. Night drives are very rewarding, with the bush revealing a different surprise every night.

Days 7-11
Kigali, Rwanda / Gorilla Tracking in Parc Nacional des Volcans

Transfer to Mfuwe and fly to Kigali, Rwanda's capital, for an overnight. A spectacular drive brings you to Parc Nacional des Volcans, where you set out for two days of exciting gorilla tracking on the slopes of the 12,000-foot Virunga Volcanoes. With your ranger-guide leads the way, and the hiking is strenuous, but the thrill of watching these gentle creatures in their mountain home is an unforgettable thrill. Overnights in a comfortable lodge. Depart via Kigali on Day 11.
