The best time to visit the Pantanal generally is during the dry season, May to October, but you'll have the best chances of jaguar sightings from July to October. Daytime temperatures range from the high 80s in May to a peak of about 95° in September, while nighttime temperatures are in the mid-70s, dropping to the mid-60s from June to August. Temperatures in Rio de Janeiro during this time are about 10°-15° cooler both day and night.
