Nehimba Lodge

Hwange, Zimbabwe

Raised thatched tent chalets arcing around a watering hole make Nehimba Lodge a spectacular place to witness elephants and other animals drink and play in northern Hwange National Park. Whether you come during the green or dry season, Nehimba’s location within the park offers fantastic opportunities to view a wide variety of birdlife like giant eagle owl, Burchell's sandgrouse, and red-billed francolin, and possibly see the famous elephant hunting lions that prowl this part of the park. Private, enclosed outdoor showers are attached to each chalet, and all have beautiful open-beam thatched ceilings and verandas overlooking the watering hole. For a refreshing dip, relax at the lodge’s pool, and with luck, have an up-close encounter with elephants—they’re known to come right up to the pool’s edge!
