David Watt

David Watt was born in Cumbria and brought up in the moorlands and rolling hills of the lovely Eden Valley. His passion for hiking started at an early age as he explored river trails and rural footpaths around the Cumbrian peaks, and he has resided in this beautiful region all his life (including the village of Kirkby Stephen, which the Coast to Coast path runs right through). He spent 27 years as a paramedic with the National Health Service Ambulance Service, making emergency calls in the Cumbria area, and is now a Clinical Practice Trainer, teaching ambulance clinicians in safety subjects. When not teaching or leading trips, he enjoys hiking, cycling, music, and reading.
