Vanessa Wards

Raised on a farm north of Auckland, Vanessa ("Ness") Wards developed a love of the outdoors, conservation, and connecting with people from an early age. After moving to Queenstown, she built a career in outdoor guiding and tourism before returning home to launch her own tour company, introducing visitors to kiwi birds in the pest-free sanctuary where she grew up. A skilled navigator with a passion for sharing New Zealand's landscapes and local culture, Ness has guided for Wilderness Travel on and off for the past seven years and is always excited to get back on the road, sharing her favorite places with travelers.
