George "Keoki" Stender

With a background that ranges from dolphin training to veterinary lab support for the Navy to survey expeditions of the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands, George “Keoki” Stender is a fantastic travel companion who loves to share his wealth of knowledge about the oceans. Keoki attended the University of Hawai'i at Manoa and earned a certificate from the Marine Option Program (MOP) for work in marine education and biological surveys on Moloka'i, Kaua'i, and Hanauma Bay. He is excited to present talks on the following topics: Overview of Oceanography, Biogeography of the Pacific (which discusses endemism and Pitcairn), Corals and Climate Change, Fish Identification, and Marine Invertebrates.
