Kapitan Khlebnikov

Siberian Coast, Russia

With the highest-class, ice-strengthened hull and advanced navigation equipment, the sturdy Kapitan Khlebnikov has crossed the Northwest Passage more than any other passenger ship. This is a true expedtion ship, built for safety in the most extreme conditions. She features 51 basic cabins and suites each with separate sitting rooms, some with lounge areas and separate bedrooms. All cabins have sizable windows, spacious closets, a DVD player, and a desk. Two comfortable dining rooms offer chef-prepared meals with open seating as well as coffee, tea, and snacks any time. Travelers can unwind in the lounge, bar, heated indoor plunge pool, gym, and sauna. The theater-style auditorium hosts daily presentations from the expedition team, and the Polar Library is stocked with books and DVDs about the flora and fauna of the area.  Also on board are a Polar Boutique, a clinic with a licensed ship doctor, and Zodiac boats for remote landings and coastal wildlife exploration.
