Days 1-2
The Mediterranean Coast
On the blue Mediterranean coast, visit Tel Aviv, the old city of Jaffa, ancient home of St. Peter, and Caesaria, the vast seaside Roman ruin that was the staging ground for Pontius Pilate’s troops.
Days 3-4
The Sea of Galilee and Golan Heights
Explore a Druze village in the Carmel Hills, visit Akko, a Crusader port with lively souks and a beachfront promenade, and stroll in the holy city of Safed, now a noted artists’ colony. On the Sea of Galilee, roam epic Biblical sites including Capernaum, scene of the miracle of the loaves and fishes, and enjoy wine tasting at one of the famed wineries in the Golan Heights. After an afternoon soak in hot springs at Hamat Gader, enjoy dinner on the shores of Lake Kinneret.
Days 5 -6
The Judean Desert
Visit the Church of the Annunciation in Nazareth, Qumrum, where the Dead Sea scrolls were found, and Jericho, the oldest city in the world. Head into the serene Judean Desert for a walk in the canyon of Nahal David, with its hidden desert springs, and watch sunset from the striking desert fortress of Masada. Our hotel, the Kibbutz Ein Gedi Resort on the Dead Sea, is the perfect oasis for unwinding and relaxing in a natural wonderland.
Day 7
The Dead Sea
Float in the natural buoyancy of the Dead Sea surrounded by its truly mystical setting, then move further into the desert to visit a Bedouin encampment for a gentle camel ride at sunset and a traditional Bedouin feast.
Days 8-9
Holy City of Jerusalem
With its treasures from the times of King David to the Prophet Mohammed, this epicenter of the Western world never ceases to amaze. Walk to the Wailing Wall and write your own personal prayer note to tuck into the wall, see the golden dome of the mosque on Temple Mount, and follow the path called the Via Dolorossa, where Jesus carried his cross past the Stations of the Cross. Spend a few moments of contemplation in the Garden of Gethsemene, visit the tomb of David and view the Old City from the heights of the Mount of Olives.
