On the most adventurous of our tours, we’ll head off the beaten path to discover rarely visited Maya sites of both the lowland rainforest and the traditional highlands. From the waterways of the Rio de la Pasión, where we visit Ceibal and Aguateca, we make our way to recently excavated Cancuén and Mixco Viejo. Dr. Canuto's insights and experience working in Guatemala enrich our journey, a special opportunity for those who want to delve more deeply into the smaller but no less fascinating sites of Mayan Guatemala.
