For a great pre-Kilimanjaro warm-up and acclimatization, join our climb of Mt. Meru, the 10th highest mountain in Africa. From our private Wilderness Travel camp set at 6,500 feet on the lower slopes of Mt. Meru, hike to a high camp at 11,500 feet and on to the summit of Little Meru (12,533'). The following day, ascend to Mt. Meru’s summit (14,900') for amazing views into the summit crater and ash cone, and distant vistas of Kilimanjaro (weather permitting).  Return to our private camp and join the rest of the group on Day 2 of the regular itinerary (Day 2).
