Climb the Highest Mountain in North Africa

More than a dozen peaks in Morocco’s High Atlas top 13,000 feet, forming a physical frontier between the semi-arid Mediterranean coast and the huge desert expanses of the Sahara. Toubkal lies about 50 miles due south of Marrakesh between two major passes that cross the range. This extension is a perfect post-trip extension for our High Atlas trek since we will be fit and well acclimatized for a Toubkal ascent.

The following day we ascend to the summit of Toubkal (13,667'), highest point in North Africa, and marvel at the views of the Atlas Mountains all around us.
