Day 1
Campo Grande / Barra Mansa
Fly from Sao Paolo to Campo Grande and transfer to Aquidauana for an incredible one-hour flight over the Pantanal’s forested islands, lagoons, lakes, and channels. Land at Barra Mansa Lodge, a working pantaneiro cattle ranch turned ecolodge set beside the Rio Negro. After settling in, set out for an introductory hike through the marshes and woodlands with local guides. Overnight at Barra Mansa Lodge.
Days 2-3
Barra Mansa, Pantanal
Guided activities includ horseback rides, hikes, expeditions by boat and canoe, birdwatching, and sport fishing. Birdlife includes parrots, macaws, toucans, birds of prey, and water birds, while resident wildlife includes capybara, anteaters, coatis, caiman, and the rare black jaguar.
Day 4
Campo Grande / Depart
Fly to Aquidauana, transfer to Campo Grande, fly to Sao Paulo for homeward-bound flights.

Founded in the 1940s as a cattle-breeding ranch, the family-run Barra Mansa Lodge is a working pantaneiro cattle ranch turned ecolodge. Set beside the Rio Negro, Barra Mansa offers simple yet comfortable air-conditioned accommodations with private bathrooms and screened windows and verandas. The lodge host a maximum of 16 guests, and the Rondon family offers a warm welcome.
