What Information Do We Collect On This Web Site
We encourage you to freely browse this site, and we do not collect any personally identifiable information when you do so, only anonymous information about the pages visited to help us make this website more useful. If you wish to receive our catalogs, subscribe to our newsletter, or download a detailed trip itinerary, we ask that you complete a short registration form.
Is This Information Saved?
To make your future use of our website easier, we place a "cookie" on your computer so you can request additional information and download itineraries without having to re-enter your personal information each time. Your information is also stored on our web server, so if your computer is set to not accept cookies or you browse our website from a different computer, you can simply enter the email address you used to register and you will not have to complete the registration form.
Email Newsletter
Wilderness Travel sends an email newsletter, normally five times a year, providing you with information about upcoming trips, special sales, and news which we think will be of interest to you. When you register you have the option to subscribe to this newsletter. You may unsubscribe from our newsletter list at any time, in a variety of ways. You can reply to one of our newsletters with the word unsubscribe in the subject line, use the contact us page on this website and select Newsletter Unsubscribe from the Email menu, or email us at info@wildernesstravel.com. You can also call us to request that you be removed. However you do this, we will immediately remove you from the list and no longer send the newsletter to you.
Print Mailings
We do our best to only send print mailings that we believe will be of interest to you. If you prefer, you can also request to receive no print mailings at all. If you should wish to only receive our two annual catalogs - Catalog of Adventures and Private Journeys - and no other print mailings, simply email us at info@wildernesstravel.com or call us and we will set this up for you.
Do We Share Your Information?
Wilderness Travel does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, including addresses or email addresses, and we do not partner with or have special relationships with any ad server companies. We do occasionally provide mailing information as a service to a very limited number of non-profit organizations which are related to the trips you have taken or interests you have expressed to us. Examples include the American Himalayan Foundation and the Cofan Indian Survival Fund. We do this rarely and only to non-commercial organizations we trust and for purposes we believe you would support.
We reserve the right to release information to the appropriate authorities if we believe that such release is reasonably necessary to comply with the law or to protect the property or safety of Wilderness Travel, or any of its agents, employees, or users, or to protect the integrity of our website and data.
Privacy Statement Amendments
From time to time, we may use customer information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our privacy notice. If our information practices change at some time in the future we will post the policy changes to our web site to notify you of these changes and provide you with the ability to opt out of these new uses.
