Beautifully set in an ebony grove overlooking South Luanga National Park, Nkwali has six bamboo chalets with private open-air bathrooms and river views. The bar, on the banks of the snaking Luangwa River, is built around a massive ebony tree and is a fantastic place for watching the sunset across the river. There’s a small lagoon in view from the dining room where elephants, bushbucks, and other wildlife can be seen, and hippos are almost always around this charming camp. The atmosphere at Nkwali is relaxed and friendly, the food is excellent, and the staff is top notch.
