Grumeti River Camp

Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

Set in a remote valley in the Western Corridor of Serengeti National Park, Grumeti provides excellent year-round gameviewing (particularly in June and July, when the Great Migration crosses the Grumeti River). The camp has 10 tented suites set in a palm grove along the Grumeti River and furnished with beds of Tanzanian cypress and en suite bathrooms with showers. Spacious decks at camp are perfect for sundowners overlooking the water. Delicious pan-African cuisine, prepared on traditional jikos (fires) or in stone ovens, is served in the boma (open-fronted dining area). A waterhole near camp is home to about 40 hippos, swimming and snorting among carpets of water lilies.
