Hotel Helvetia
Our Trips using this Lodging:
St. Petersburg, Russia
(May 17-27, 2013 and Jun 21-Jul 1, 2013 departures only)
Once used as the Swiss embassy, the Helvetia is a beautifully appointed 19th century building that retains the charm and ambiance of an old St. Petersburg mansion. It's hard to beat the location, just two blocks from bustling Nevsky Prospect, and there are two restaurants and a wine bar. The hotel's lovely inner courtyard is a peaceful place to relax with a glass of wine and snacks after exploring the city sights. There are no elevators, so all access to guest rooms is by stairs.
