Everest Lodges

Khumbu Region, Nepal

These stone-built trekkers’ lodges are the most comfortable the area has to offer and feature panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The chalet-style lodges feature guest rooms with private bathrooms with hot and cold running water, showers, and Western-style toilets. At the end of the day, you can relax in the bar with a drink, then enjoy a delicious dinner in the lodge’s dining room. (A nice touch—hot water bottles to warm up your bed at night!) In Phakding we stay at the Yeti Mountain Home (Day 8), set in a serene spot on the banks of the Dudh Kosi River. On Day 9, we stay at the Everest Summit Lodge in Monjo, which overlooks the village and the narrow Dudh Kosi Valley. The views here are especially terrific, with a magnificent backdrop of ice-draped Thamserku (21,729’). In Namche Bazaar we stay two nights at Yeti Mountain Home (Days 10-11), a lodge that’s part of the same chain as the one in Phakding. Located slightly above the village, this wonderful lodge provides a quiet cozy haven from the bustle of the busy bazaar and lodges below, while providing the best views of the Himalayan giants surrounding you.
