Elephant Watch Camp
Elephant Watch Camp is a feast for the senses, with its bright swathes of cotton, huge cushioned sofas, and furniture made from the wood of trees felled by elephants. Designed and operated by our Guest Speaker Iain Douglas-Hamilton and his wife Oria, it is an eco-camp with six spacious tents designed to catch the breeze and to ensure maximum privacy. Each tent has its own verandah and stunning view as well as a king-size bed with crisp cotton sheets, bedside lamps that run on solar, crisp clean towels, and a kanga bathrobe. All the herbs, vegetables, and most of the meat is organically grown and freshly picked or raised on the Douglas-Hamilton’s farm. The trained cooks make every bite of the delicious food on site, a fusion of Italo-Afro-bush gourmet. The camp staff are mostly Samburu from nearby villages. They are charming people who look after you and the camp very well.
