Kabini River Lodge
Nagarhole National Park, India
A restored 18th century hunting lodge once owned by the Maharajas of Mysore, the Kabini River Lodge offers simple, low-key comfort and an unbeatable location for an authentic Indian wildlife experience at Nagarhole National Park. Gameviewing from the lodge is by boat and open-top 4WD vehicle, with the lodge’s expert naturalists along to add their enthusiasm and knowledge. While Nagarhole’s resident tigers and leopards can be elusive, you’d be unlikely not to see elephants, wild boar, monkeys, buffalo, crocodiles, and an amazing array of colorful bird species. In between gameviewing excursions, you can explore Kabini’s pretty gardens or relax in one of the large hammocks. Meals are served buffet style in the lodge’s open-air gazebo overlooking the Kabini River.
