Glenburn Tea Estate

Darjeeling, India

A historic 1,600-acre tea plantation nestled on a mountainside across the valley from Darjeeling, Glenburn is set in the Himalayan foothills above the banks of the Rangit River. It was started by a Scottish tea company in 1859 and has since passed into the hands of one of India’s pioneering tea planting families, the Prakashes, now in their third generation. In this tranquil lodge with just eight guest rooms, evenings begin with drinks on the veranda or under the stars on the lawn by a roaring fire, followed by dinner and conversation around the large dining table.
