Odzala-Kakoua National Park, Congo
Ngaga Camp rests in a glade of marantaceae vegetation (a type of giant herb in the arrowroot family) in the heart of pristine primary rainforest. The dining room, lounge, and bar are on raised decks overlooking the forest and are shaded and insect-proofed, providing a sanctuary between activities. Walkways connect the rooms to the public areas. There are six twin-bedded guest rooms furnished with twin beds, mosquito netting, and a fan, and have an en suite bathroom with a shower and flush toilet. A star deck and fire pit are placed on a dropped deck below the main and are for after-dinner relaxation, while a separate deck is located at a natural swimming spot on the Ngaga stream below camp. Electricity is provided by solar energy with a back-up generator if required.
