Bagan, Burma

Set on the banks of the Irrawaddy, this hotel is just a five-minute walk away from some of the “must-see” temples of Bagan. Its tranquil setting among tropical trees and manicured lawns makes it a wonderful place to relax at the end of the day. The main building, originally built in 1922 for the then Prince of Wales when he visited Bagan, is surrounded by 24 chalet-style bungalows. Guest rooms are spacious and well appointed, with teakwood furnishings, fine fabrics, and traditional handicrafts, and each has a private terrace. Facilities include a swimming pool and a massage center. Breakfast and dinner are served in an outdoor dining area.
