A small hike-in lodge at 5,834 feet in a wooded valley, the Hallerangerhaus has a classic old wood-panelled dining and sitting room heated by an old-fashioned stove. The facilities are basic, with shared dorm-style rooms and shared bathrooms down the hall. From the terrace, we can take in the spectacular views down valley and up to the towering rock faces just above the lodge.
