Estancia La Bamba
San Antonio de Areco, Argentina
The origins of this wonderful estancia, one of the oldest in Argentina, date back to 1830 when it was one of the post houses on the “Camino Real” (Royal Road) that linked Buenos Aires to the north of the country. Completely renovated in 2009, the estancia today retains its exceptional charm, and with just 22 rooms, offers a singular experience of Argentine gaucho tradition. The estancia offers good hiking and walking right on its beautiful park-like grounds, and the cuisine is outstanding, in grand Argentine tradition (think asados and mate tastings). Live folkloric music is presented each night and the outdoor swimming pool is an ideal place to relax.
