Daniel Windham

Daniel Windham, born in the Appalachian foothills, began backpacking at an early age on the Appalachian Trail, where he discovered his passion for the mountains. In 1994, after graduating from college, he moved to northern Italy and became a mountain guide. His love of alpine and high-altitude environments has led him to climb and guide on some of the highest peaks in the Himalayas as well as the Alps, Mt. Aconcagua in Argentina, and North America, where he has guided many climbs of Mt. Rainier. Dan lives in northern Italy with his wife and three children and juggles his time between guiding in the Alps, South America, and on Mt. Rainier. He speaks English, Spanish, and southern Italian.
