Hugh Westacott

Hugh Westacott is a renowned British walking guide and author of the best-selling Walker's Handbook, widely recognized as the standard British "how to" book on walking. He has also written numerous footpath guides and articles as well as The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Walking & Backpacking: People, Places & Techniques. Hugh's particular interests are the literature of walking, the history and development of English landscape and architecture, and the environment. A veteran Trip Leader, he has lead walking trips for Wilderness Travel for over a decade.
