Olga Slowing, born in Guatemala, is a professional guide with many years of experience in leading cultural and archaeological tours throughout Guatemala, Mexico, Belize, Honduras, and El Salvador. She studied Ecotourism at the Universidad del Valle in Guatemala and is an avid student of Maya culture with a special interest in epigraphy, having taken a number of courses with the famed Maya scholar Nikolai Grube. In 2006, she was co-producer of a joint Italian-Guatemalan documentary film, Cultural Continuity in Guatemala. Olga's thesis was about the cultural history and nature of Quiriguá, and she will bring her special expertise about this site and its surrounding area to our Artistry of the Ancient Maya tour. Olga is an enthusiastic Trip Leader who brings a lot of energy and knowledge to any trip she leads. In addition to her native Spanish, Olga speaks and writes English, German, and Italian.
