Pemba Rita

Pemba Rita Sherpa was born in the Sherpa village of Phortse (11,950') in the Khumbu region below Mt. Everest . He has worked as a Trip Leader since 1980 guiding treks in the Khumbu as well as more remote regions of Nepal including Dolpo and Mustang. Pemba Rita has participated in two Everest expeditions, climbing to Camp III in 1983 with the American and German Everest Expedition and to Camp IV in 1991 with the Belgian Everest Expedition. He has visited the US many times and speaks excellent English. When not guiding, he lives in Phortse, where he owns a trekking lodge.
