Festus Mbinga

Festus Mbinga grew up in Otjinene, a village in the Kalahari Desert of eastern Namibia. He was raised in the bush, tending his family's free-range cattle herds, an important full-time occupation from early on. Growing up side by side with Kalahari San Bushmen, he absorbed much of his superb bush knowledge. Initially, Festus and his friends walked to the local farm school. Later, he attended high school in Namibia's capital city, Windhoek. After completing school, he began working in 1992 as a Himba translator on wildlife safaris. Soon his natural talents became apparent and he was promoted to guide at Ongava Game Lodge. He now has four years of guiding experience in big game country of Etosha National Park and other parts of Namibia. Festus has a profound knowledge of and passion for Namibia and its people, and is a knowledgeable, and charming host as well as a wonderful game tracker.
