Bhuwan KC

Bhuwan KC, born to a farming family in the Dhaulagiri region of Nepal, holds an ISC in Biology from PN College in Pokhara and has also studied flora and fauna in London’s Kew Gardens and the Royal Botanical Gardens in Edinburgh.  In his youth, he began working as a porter on treks, then made his way up through the ranks to become a Trek Leader, now with 20 years of guiding experience.  Bhuwan has guided over 100 groups in practically every part of Nepal, from Everest and Kanchenjunga to the whole of the Annapurna region and out to such remote areas as Upper Dolpo, Rara Lake, the Pipar Pheasant Sanctuary, and the Mardi Himal. Among his awards have been the Paul Morrison Wanderlust  Guide award in 2006, which he received from the Royal Geographic Society in London (chosen from a list of 70 guides spanning the globe). Off-time, Bhuwan enjoys writing articles for the local language media on environmental issues. He is an avid birder and enjoys international travel.
