Dr. Christine Drake

Dr. Christine Drake, Professor Emerita of Geography at Old Dominion University, specializes in the cultural, political, and environmental geography of Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. She is interested in the use and management of world resources and issues of economic development. She has won several awards for excellence in teaching, and has lectured on travel programs worldwide. Professor Drake has led field courses for teachers and students in Morocco, Senegal, Turkey, and Peru and has done fieldwork in South Africa, Namibia, Ghana, Mali, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, and Morocco.
