Trek to Everest

Nepal Private Journey

Legendary Mt. Everest crowns the Himalayas, its triangular summit soaring into the cobalt skies above a host of snow-capped peaks. Savor a magnificent 9-day trek among the most amazing mountains on earth on our privately guided adventure, and meet the Sherpa people who call this magical realm home.

Below is an Itinerary-in-Brief. To view a complete Detailed Itinerary, Download Full Itinerary or Email our Area Specialist

Itinerary-in-Brief

Days 1-2
Fabled Kathmandu

With its ethereal pagoda-temples, labyrinthine bazaars, and the scent of incense wafting into the streets, Kathmandu is absolutely fascinating. On a private tour, explore the medieval palaces and monasteries of Bhaktapur town, a showcase for the genius of 17th century Newari artists, and ancient Bodha, the great white stupa that attracts Tibetan Buddhist pilgrims from across Asia.

Days 3-11
The Highest Mountains on Earth

Fly to Lukla, in the foothills below Everest, and head out on an unforgettable 9-day trek with your Sherpa guide. Carrying only a daypack, hike at your own pace and enjoy an intimate introduction to this high world as you visit ancient villages and feast your eyes on 360-degree mountain panoramas. Hike up to lively Namche Bazaar, the Sherpa “capital,” to acclimatize, then visit the Hillary School in beautiful Khumjung village, and Sir Edmund Hillary’s hospital in neighboring Khunde. Sherpas are internationally renowned for their skill, courage, and endurance on high altitude expeditions, and these dramatically located villages are home to many of the world’s most famous mountaineers. Trek further to mystical Tengboche Monastery (12,650'), the spiritual center of the Everest region. Ama Dablam, one of the most spectacular peaks in the whole Himalaya, looms above this treasured monastery, and Mt. Everest’s famous pyramid summit is unmistakable amid the cirque of breathtaking giants. In this high Himalayan world, the Tibetan Buddhist presence is evident in intricately carved mani (prayer) stones decorating the trails and brightly colored prayer flags fluttering atop every mountain pass. Comfortable and well-located Sherpa-owned lodges with private rooms, or full-service camping, are your accommodation, with hearty meals prepared by your personal cook.

Days 12-13
Temples, Palaces, Bustling Bazaars

Return to Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital, to explore the lively Tibetan markets of Thamel or join privately guided visits to the serene hilltop shrine of Swayambu and the carved wooden temples and palaces of medieval Durbar Square.
