Itinerary-in-Brief
Days 1-3
Magical Damaraland
A stunning flight across ancient valleys and soaring peaks brings you to fantastically remote Damaraland, where timeless deserts are cut by jagged mountains. From vintage-style Damaraland Camp, set below the imposing Brandberg Mountains, explore amid endless vistas in a prime wilderness where the rare desert elephant roams, alongside gemsbok, springbok, and ostrich. Enjoy stargazing around the campfire under the brilliant desert sky.
Days 4-6
Golden Dunes of the Namib
Utterly unlike any other place on earth, the Namib is a sea of golden sand sculpted into towering dunes. The celebrated Sossusvlei Dunes rise 1,000 feet from acacia-dotted desert pans. Hike the dunes as the morning light changes the colors from mauve to red to burnt orange, and explore by 4WD. Overnights are at deluxe Sossusvlei Wilderness Camp, with remarkable vistas across the Namib. Optional balloon safaris offer stunning aerial views.
Days 7-9
Okavango Delta
In the heart of Botswana’s lush Okavango Delta, set out for 4WD gameviewing both day and night and look for wildlife by mokoro (dugout canoe) on labyrinthine Delta waterways. Lion, leopard, cheetah, buffalo, elephant, and hippo are all found in this wildlife haven. Kwetsani Camp or Tuba Tree Camp offer incomparable lodging with access to the best gameviewing.
Days 10-12
Chobe and Linyanti Game Reserve
An exclusive private reserve on fabled Chobe National Park’s western edge, Linyanti’s riverine forests, grasslands, and waterholes along the Savuti Channel are habitat for zebra, buffalo, lion, wild dog, hyena, hippo, and more. Explore on walks, by 4WD, and from special gameviewing hides. Elegant Duma Tau or deluxe Savuti Camp provide wonderful comforts in a spectacular environment.
Day 13
Victoria Falls, Zambia
Experience the natural wonder of Victoria Falls, known to locals as Mosi-oa-Tunya, “The Smoke that Thunders.” Options include rafting, helicopter flights, and a sunset cruise.
