The Sagitta

Galapagos Islands, Ecuador

The Swedish-built 120-foot Sagitta is an impressive three-masted sailing ship with abundant space on her beautiful teak decks, including a shaded salon for enjoying al fresco lunches and dinners with the tranquil beauty of the Galapagos Islands all around. She caters to just 16 guests, with 10 air-conditioned double cabins. Each cabin has one double lower berth and one single upper berth, and its own bathroom with a hot-water shower.

The Sagitta’s comforts include spacious common areas, a light-filled dining room, a library/conference room with flat-screen TV, and deck salons. Delicious Ecuadorian and international cuisine prepared by a professional chef is served in the salon or on the shaded upper deck. With a stable, extra-beam build, Sagitta is the perfect choice for the Galapagos as she plies the seas with hardly a roll. On some of our crossings, when the Sagitta’s engines are supplemented by her six large sails, we enjoy the thrill of watching the jibs and staysails catching the wind.

Staffed by a veteran captain and a highly trained crew of nine, the Sagitta holds the SmartVoyager® Certificate for sound conservation and socially responsible practices. She has been cruising the Galapgos for decades under the ownership of a long-time Galapagos maritime family known for its tradition of attention to detail. its tradition of personal attention, expert maintenance, and the highest regard for protecting and sharing the natural history of the Galapagos Islands.
